Employers frequently asked questions

What do I have to provide? One year of fixed term employment and a desire to contribute to a young person’s development.

Do I chose who I employ? Yes. We do the initial recruitment and screening of applicants. Suitable candidates are then sent to interviews with participating employers for final selection.

How much time does the work-based training take? Training is simplified and targets the skills required for the job through a systematic training plan. Scholarship candidates are fast learners who quickly become productive employees.

What recruitment fees do I pay?  There are no advertising costs or percentages of salary to pay.  We ask for the fee of $1000 per placement, this fee contributes towards the cost of implementing the programme over 12 months and the ongoing support of the student and Employer.

What happens after the year is up? A variety of things can happen. Employers may offer their scholarship holders a full time position, furthering their career path. In some cases we work together with you to find further employment for your scholarship person. A number of our employers also re-employ through the programme.
